That makes me a sad panda - South Melbourne 0 Northcote 1

In theory, there's a massive post to be written.

But in reality, yesterday can be summed up quite succintly.

The result sucked.

The 'gourmet' sausage sucked.

The walk up nearly the entire length of Clarendon Street and the part of Spencer Street before the station in drizzly rain kinda sucked.

Hopefully I'll be seeing at least some of you at Lakeside on Friday for the cup match against Port Melbourne, which will also probably suck.

You know there's problems when our fans can't even be bothered abusing the players. Some of these boys, maybe just about all of them, might just have a month left in their South Melbourne careers.

And stop bloody calling for offsides and handballs - just play the fucken whistle.

  1. Hahaha so true about supporters not being arsed abusing the players any more.

But can't agree about the sausages at Lakeside, they are sensational.

  2. Must disagree JJ - they were beyond bland, even the standard amount of (cold, ugh) tomato sauce and mustard could mask the blandness.

Not a patch on Richmond's kransky, Laverton Market's South American chorizo (which for the same price, you get an actual fresh roll, properly cooked onions and a choice of more than half a dozen condiments, including freshly made salsas), or the weisswurst from the stall at the Vic Market.

  3. I think one reason the players are not getting abused is because we actually deserve to win these game's!!! How many chances have we had? We have not had much luck.

  4. This is one of the most popular posts on the blog, even if only for people doing image searches looking for pics of a sad panda.

A few notes on comments.

We've had a lot of fun over the years with my freewheeling comments policy, but all good things must come to an end. Therefore I will no longer be approving comments that contain personal abuse of any sort.

Still, if your post doesn't get approved straight away, it's probably because I haven't seen it yet.

As usual, publication of a comment does not mean endorsement of its content.
