What some of the rest did on the weekend

South's under 21s lost 2-0 to Coburg United, not an unexpected loss considering one is third and one is third last. While the women's seniors and ressies took the week off, the women's thirds - oops, can't call them that, FFV might get angry - lost 2-0 in their derby game against league leader Albert Park WSC. Lastly the under 18s had a win, 3-1 over Brunswick City, maintaining top spot for now, which is dependent on Bulleen Royals' result in their game tonight, goal difference and all that.

  1. FFV ... I wonder what that acronymn really stands for ...
The week off for the Women was due to the almighty clash between Vic Vision and some Beijing combination team (i wonder if they were some local chinese girls). You must have heard about it? They did give everybody 2 weeks notice and rescheduled the whole WPL round around it, it being such an elite match. Didn't you go to Bob Jane on Sunday to watch it? And pay $15 entrance because overnight it became a charity match to raise funds for the earthquake victims in China. I have no problem with that, but why was the first match at Doncaster for free?
Did I go watch it? Ummm I decided to watch a similar elite match on at the same time between the Socceroos and Iraq, I'm pretty sure it was a World Cup qualifier. Oh and if you want to know when that WPL round has been rescheduled for? Weekend of July 5th, I also believe that's when another elite competition is on, something called the National Championships.
Well done to the senior men and U18s. Keep working hard to the U21s and Womens 3rds. And time for the Women Seniors to climb the ladder, everybody believes you should, following is a link to the latest person who does, last weeks opponent Bendigo coach http://bendigo.yourguide.com.au/news/local/sport/general/vipers-closing-in-on-top-five-berth/777092.aspx

  2. Did hear about it through smfcboard, but frankly, not surprised whatsoever with the FFV's handling of this stuff though. As far as I can tell, if it hasn't Melbourne Victory attached to it, they don't seem to try very hard. And if they are doing their best to promote the game, even more reason to worry.

A few notes on comments.

Still, if your post doesn't get approved straight away, it's probably because I haven't seen it yet.
